Get to know the people behind Transparency-One! In the second article of this series, we spoke with our Quality Engineer, Soukayna Bouzoubaa, who based in our Paris office.

Soukayna Bouzoubaa1. Where are you from?

I’m originally from Fez, Morocco.

2. What does a Quality Engineer do?

Quality engineers establish, implement and maintain quality management systems to measure and control quality in the production process.

3. How did you get into your field?

I studied Software Engineering in school. I studied first at an engineering school in Fez, Morocco (E.S.I.S.A :Ecole Supérieur d’Ingénierie en Sciences Appliquées) and then received my Master’s degree in Marseille, France. During my study internship, I discovered IT quality. I found that I really enjoy this field, and since then have continued to work to improve my skills!

4. What does a typical day look like for you? What teams do you work with?

A typical day for me starts with daily support meeting with QA Team. Then, I do a quick global review of the Transparency-One application, and I finish up the morning with yet another meeting before having lunch with the team. In the afternoon, I manage the support tickets sent in by Transparency-One users and automate the user story. I work primarily with the Developers team (Front & Back).

5. The software and tech industry is known for being a male-dominated field. Do you think this is true? How do you find the work atmosphere at Transparency-One?

It is true that the software industry is a male-dominated field. But I feel grateful that this has not impacted me directly in my day-to-day life or at work. I feel just as valued and appreciated as my male colleagues at Transparency-One. In fact, sexism and machismo really are not welcome in our company culture!

6. What’s one of the favorite parts of your job?

My favorite part is the Automation Test task. These tests help ensure that the functionalities we are adding to the platform will work well for users.

7. Latest accomplishment in your job?

Updating all the integration tests for the Transparency-One platform’s Search Products page. There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes!

8. Where can we find you when you’re not in the office?

In a library reading a book! My favorite book is Le Mariage de Plaisir by Tahar Ben Jelloun.
